Texas

So . . . Texas. I'll start with the positive: we were able to spent time with my cousin Sarah and her brand new baby, Emerson (so sweet and little and adorable!!!) and hang with our besties from Boston, Evan and Courtney and their new little lady, Campbell.

The annual "girls trip" brought us to Texas so we could spend time together and meet the latest member of the ever-expanding Swank clan. Pictured above, starting from the back, are:

Now the not-so-positive side of the trip. Henry had a major reaction to his 12-month shots. He had a crazy high fever, was lethargic and listless and wouldn't eat or nurse pretty much the entire trip. This, of course, brought major anxiety for me. We eventually brought him to an Urgent Care and after a blood test it was determined that it was indeed a severe reaction to his shots or some kind of viral infection. As you can see from this picture, he just wasn't himself. Not to be a Debbie Downer, BUT, our flight out of Dallas got cancelled on Saturday afternoon. We ended up spending another night there, only to have our flight delayed and then rerouted through Kansas to get more fuel. So our two hour flight took five hours. Ugh. We have officially decided: no more travel for a LONG time! NO plane rides. NO hotel rooms. We are staying home!!!! It is just too stressful with Henry at this point in our lives.
Here is Henry (on the rare occasion when he perked up for a bit) crawling in and out of the hotel cupboard! That boy cracks me up!

Some more of the good stuff! We spent Friday night with the Shavers! Here is Courtney holding the future Mr. and Mrs. Henry Parks! :) Isn't Campbell just adorable!!

Even though our trip was less than desirable, I'm sure glad we got to see our favorite peeps in Texas! Both new babies couldn't be more cute and we're glad we got to meet both little ladies while they're still so little! :)
