Play dough

One of my students made home-made play dough for Henry for Christmas (how sweet is that!?!? Two other students gave me books for him! I just love my class this year!). We gave it a whirl this weekend. I thought for sure he would want to eat it. Nope . . . he thought it would be a fun idea to throw it. Just like everything else he picks up these days, the play dough went soaring through the air. Little turkey!

Here are a few of Henry's latest:

  • got his first molar (bottom, left side)
  • says, "Boo!"
  • says, "Whadat" for "What's that" and points at everything
  • is obsessed with animal books
  • gives bear hugs when we ask for them
  • shakes his head no very vigurously when we ask him just about anything (example, "Henry, do you want a drink?" - Henry immediatly shakes no, even though sometimes he really means yes!)
  • points to his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth when asked (unless he shakes his head no!)
  • understands so much more than I can even begin to comprehend! It will be fun when his vocabulary catches up with what is going on in his mind! :)

Thanks goodness for modern medicine!

Henry had a very successful surgery on Friday morning! Here he is playing in the police car version of the cozy coupe waiting for his turn to get tubes put in his ears. When it was his turn, he literally was away from us for about 12 minutes. After the surgery, he woke up very grumpy. But once he took a nap that afternoon, he has been one happy camper! :) I don't know why we didn't do this months ago!

All good things must come to an end!

We had such an amazing Christmas break! We are quite bummed that it is coming to an end after today. We spend the entire week with just our little family- we went to the zoo, Children's Museum, a water park, book stores, etc. We even had a couple of days thrown in there when we didn't get out of our jammies! Henry and I so loved having Tom around!!! It is hard to gear up to get back to the real world again. But as my sister said to me on the phone today, "All good things must come to an end."

Happy New Year!

We wish you all a happy and healthy 2011!
Henry, you forgot your pants!
(Too much partying and look what happens . . .)

Shiner

Henry got his first shiner the other day after he ran into the corner of a door. He was quite the puddle for a bit . . . but he just got a new medication for an ear infection that won't go away, so I think he was just feeling icky anyway. It took a some soaking in the tub to make him feel better! :)
