Big boy

Henry has several new tricks up his sleeve ever since he's turned six months!
1. He has tried and enjoyed bananas, avocado, and sweet potato
2. He eats twice a day now- at lunch and dinner time
3. He is drinking water from a sippy cup (with a bit of assistance!)
4. He scoots backwards on his tummy!!!!!
5. He saves up all his poop for days and has one massive blow out . . . so much fun for mom!

Outside fun!

Tummy time outside
I've got the whole world in my hands . . .

Gotta love the cheeks! :)

Henry and his buddy John

Our attempts at getting a good shot of the boys together . . .
It is much more fun to grab at each other then smile for the camera!
Henry's cheeks are delicious!
There we go!

Little Fish

We hit the hotel pool while we were in Duluth this weekend! It was Henry's first time swimming and he LOVED it! It took him a good ten minutes to figure out how much fun swimming is, but after that he went wild with his splashing and kicking!

Six month check up

We visited Dr. A today for Henry's six month check. The doc says he is a very healthy boy! I love these checks as it is so fun to see how much he has grown in the last two months. It also gave us a chance to hear Henry cry for the first time in a LONG time (he usually does a little disgruntled sound and not a full blown cry) when he got his shots. I certainly don't need to hear that again for another LONG time!
Here are his stats:
height: 27 inches (75%ile)
weight: 16 pounds 10 ounces (25%ile)
head: 17.52 inches (75%ile)

It was a big day for the big boy! Above you see his reaction after eating his first "real" food- bananas! Yes, I was a bit disappointed at his NONreaction! It was like he'd been eating them his whole life. He's such a mellow fellow!
Henry took a trip to the park and got to ride in the swing for the first time today! He LOVED it! At first, I was hardly pushing him and he was quite content. I then gave him a bit more oomph and he started giggling and giggling! We might have a dare devil on our hands! :)
Henry is now riding in his stroller without being strapped in with his car seat! He will actually stay awake for a much longer time now that he can look out and see where we are going. So fun!
Dad is off this week! Henry is enjoying some much-needed dad time!

Twins game with the Shavers

Our roomies from Boston, Courtney and Evan (and baby Shaver), spent the weekend with us in good ol' Minnesota! We had an excellent time with them! The highlight was taking them to the Twins game at Target Field! :) It was super fun and Henry was a super trooper!
Henry took a snooze during innings 2-5!
Go Twins!
Great shot of Henry with the new stadium in the background.

H-dog enjoying his first Twins game is all his gear!

Our beautiful . . . I mean handsome . . . boy

My feet are neat!

We can't do much with Henry these days without his feet getting in the way (feeding him, changing his diaper, reading books to him, etc.)!!!

Henry's first picnic!

It was glooooorious out today! Henry had his first "picnic" outside on our deck.
Followed by an exhilarating time in his jumper-roo!

Come fly with me!

Henry's hair "wings" could take him to some far away places! :)

Fluids- job hazard

Henry is not naked because I'm afraid of a mess. He is naked because he just peed on his outfit. Tonight he decided his Bumbo is tastier than his cereal.
Henry loves getting his bottom aired out! (He's got a bit of a diaper rash.)

I am learning a lot about motherhood. This week specifically, I'm learning a lot about fluids- bodily fluids. I know babies can be messy creatures. But holy cow! In the past 48 hours Henry has peed on his changing pad a few times, our living room rug, in the bath each night, on ME several times . . . you catch my drift. But pee isn't the only fluid I have encountered the past few days. I have been spit up on (immediately after I changed my clothes after being peed on!) and spit at (Henry sneezed while eating his cereal) many times over. I know this is nothing new to moms, but it is new to me! Henry, in the past, hasn't been much of a free air pee-er or spitter-upper. After he let his pee fly for the fourth time today, he looked up at me and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. If I have to encounter fluids on a daily basis to hang out with this little guy, I'll gladly do it! :)
