The Perfect Day

This is the last weekend of my "maternity" leave (can you still call it that after 10 1/2 months?). I officially go back to work on Tuesday. Wah, wah, wah . . .! Tom and I decided that we needed to make the most of our Sunday. After thoroughly cleaning the house (a clean house means a "clean"mind in my book!!!), we hit the beach! We had a picnic lunch and then lounged by the lake. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!

Then we had the Aslesons over for dinner as part of a very huge thank you to Auntie Jennie and Uncle Darren for recaulking our bathroom while we were away last weekend (it was a big surprise to us- more on that in a future blog). As you can see from the picture, I had lots of help shucking the corn! :)

It was the perfect day because:

1. We got our house cleaned up- a big accomplishment before a sure-to-be hectic week

2. We had great family time at the beach

3. We got to hang with some of our favorite peeps

4. We had delicious dinner- much of which we picked up from a road-side farm stand. You gotta love the fresh veggies in the summer! :)

It feels good to end, not only the summer, but my time off from work to be with our baby, on such a good note. **Sigh**
