Henry's favorite thing to do

Right now, Henry's favorite thing to do is play "animals" with me (and only me!).  It usually goes something like this:

H:  "Mom want to play with me?"
K:  "Sure buddy, what should we do?"
H: "You be ____ (insert choice animal)." And he chucks the animal at me.
H: "Hold the animal on the back like this."  (I'll purposely hold it by the tail) "No, by the back.  He can't wiggle his tail."  (I'll give in and follow the demand)
H (now pretending he's the animal: "Hi Heart Puppy, want to play with me?"
K (now pretending I'm the animal): "Yes, I would love to play with you.  What should we do?"
H: "Wet's run in the meadow!" or "Wet's ride our kayaks!" or "Wet's jump in the bouncy house!"

And on we play . . . for hours . . . everyday!!  I'm not gonna lie, there is only so much more of this I will be able to endure!!!!

I see glimpses . . .

. . . of the boys starting to enjoy playing together!  Henry has been especially into having Charlie play with him, unfortunately, I think Charlie has been pummeled by his big brother one too many times.  He generally runs the other direction when Henry comes towards him.  I have been able to leave them along in the play room for short stints in order to grab a Kleenex, go to the bathroom, grab the phone, etc. (you know, basic necessities) and have returned without anyone (Charlie) crying! :)  I see glimpses of what the future will be like and I like it!!!
 love this pic!
Another sweet moment of Henry sharing with Charlie- got to catch it on film when I can!!
I love everything about this pic- shows Henry's sweet, innocent, shy side (which he has been lately in front of strangers and friends alike)

Water Adventure!

We met our friends Anne, Elsie & Margot along with Jennie, Brynn & Cara at a splash park last week.  Both boys did pretty well in the water (since water has not been a favorite activity this VERY hot summer, doing "pretty well" is a nice improvement!). Henry had all the little ladies helping him- Cara above and Elsie below.

Charlie loved walking through the 4-inches of water and playing with the pink watering can! :)

Handy Helper

Henry loves helping me in the kitchen!  This particular day, he peeled some carrots. There wasn't much carrot left after he finished up, but he can officially peel carrots (which is more than his father can say!  Tom has many skills, but anything domestic is not his forte.).

It's Official . . .

. . . Charlie is a walker!  Shortly after his 11-month mark, he started taking several steps at a time and hasn't look back!  It's funny to see him crawl now because all he really does is walk . . . and sometimes run! :)

Shaving Cream

Tom was packing to head to the airport on a Sunday night.  Henry caught site of his shaving cream and just had to have some.  This fun lasted 2 minutes.  Clean up lasted 10.  Love. It.

Check out these chompers!
