Outdoor dining!

One of my fave summer activities is eating outdoors! We were lucky enough to spend a good portion of our Sunday with the Asleson ladies (Jen and Darren had a funeral to attend). We had three hungry kids on our hands! Don't worry about looking at the camera, kids . . . just focus on eating!
Henry had his first fruit pop . . . it was HILARIOUS watching him eat it. First, he kept picking up the frozen end and sticking the popsicle stick in his mouth. His hand would get cold so he'd throw it back down on the table. After several rounds of this, the top part broke off. He also figured out to hold on to the non-cold stick. He found eating half a pop while holding on to the stick was much more manageable and delicately licked his pop until most of it melted down his belly. Three sticky kids in the tub that night!

Helicopter

Henry LOVES helicopters . . . his most impressive word thus far! We have him saying it on video and if I could ever figure out how to post it, I will! :)

Duck and Goose

If you don't know about Duck and Goose books by Tad Hills, you need to check them out! Henry has loved them since he was a baby (maybe it's because his mom and dad love them too!). He got the plush duck and goose from the Easter Bunny last year. He has been pretty attached to them lately. Tom took Henry out for an early morning backpack ride this past weekend and he insisted on bringing "uck-eh-ooh" with him!
Later that day he put Duck and Goose "nigh-nigh" on the grill. It just cracked me up!

On another Duck and Goose note . . . we got home from school the other day and Henry ran to his play room to get Duck and Goose. He came out to the kitchen with them and had their lips locked on each other and was making kissing noises! Man, that kid cracks me up! :)

Fun night out!

We met my sister and her girls at an end-of-the-school-year fun night for kids. Henry was very excited when he saw "be-hee-op" (Beanie Bop, Cara's nickname)! We call them our little twins . . . if only Henry still had his curly hair!
He got his first face painting on his hand. He chose a puppy dog! :)

They had a reptile show for the kids. Henry got a kick out of all the animals, but had a hard time sitting still to watch the show . . . I think I have a very high-energy toddler on my hands! Good thing we are going to have another baby soon!

Henry loved playing with the farm animals in the farm room!

Summertime fun!

The Erickson ladies came over to play in the water table (check out Henry giggling at Margot! He ADORES her!) . . . . . . we eventually ended up with three naked little ones! Fun pics for graduation! :)

My belly is my canvas!

Memorial Weekend

We didn't have a whole lot going on for Memorial Weekend, so we decided to make the most of our family time together! Tom has a bagillion hotel points so we used some up by staying at a hotel in Edina on Saturday night! It was super fun and felt like we were on a mini vacation! We stopped near the airport on our way to watch some planes land. We thought Henry would get a kick out of it. Apparently, they came too close for comfort! He kept saying, "A-pane lowd." (Airplane loud) To this day when one flies over, he'll run and grab my leg and say, "A-pane lowd."
We also stopped at the Air National Guard airplane museum. They happened to be closed that day, but let us tour anyway!

Henry was most enthralled with the "el-i-hop-er" (helicopter).

He even got to go in one and play with the gears!

Henry loved swimming in the hotel pool!

When mom was out shopping with Auntie Jennie the weekend before, dad and Henry did some garage saling- and came home with this monstrosity! Most of you know what a big fan I am of big plastic toys (NOT!) but Henry loves it so what can ya do?! We got it all set up and Henry spent lots of time (well, lots of time for him- maybe 10 minutes!) exploring his new equipment.

The smile says it all . . .

He even enjoyed his swing!

We had our first fire of the season! Where, again, Henry sat for a whopping 5 minutes and enjoyed it!

We toasted marshmallows for s'mores. This is Henry eating is first marshmallow ever- he took one bite and spit it out. What kid doesn't like marshmallows??? (Besides the Erickson ladies!!)

We filled up Henry's pool for the first time that weekend as well. He clearly doesn't get his rear-end from his mama!

WEEEEE!

SPLASH!!

All in all, an excellent weekend! All weekends should be three days long! Oh wait, in two more days all my days will be weekends!!! :)
